Gift Card Discounts: Where to Buy Them for Less

Discounted gift cards are a quiet way to save on stores you already use. A few safeguards keep it safe.

Buy below face value

Retailers and resellers sometimes sell cards at a discount. Combine with a store code for a double saving.

Check the balance first

If buying a resold card, verify the balance immediately and keep the receipt.

Watch expiry and fees

Some cards carry inactivity fees or expiry dates. Read the terms before you buy.

Use soon

A gift card you forget is money lost. Buy for a planned purchase, not speculatively.

Mind the cashback rule

Orders paid partly with gift cards may not earn cashback. Check the program terms.
